Aquaform lamps using OLED technology

Several years ago, when the lighting equipment market featured traditional and halogen light bulbs, and the LED technology was beginning to enter the market, innovativeness of a lamp was manifested predominantly by its appearance. This has changed dramatically. Now the determinant of innovation in this industry is the combination of design and state-of-the-art technology. Therefore, in our new catalogue (more) we offer a possibility to customise the configuration of technical parameters in many light fixtures, especially in lamps with LED integrated source of light, and also we extended our product assortment to include more than 150 totally new articles. Today we would like to present two out of the latest novelties which, in our view, are particularly interesting thanks to the fusion of the latest achievements of technology with original form…

OLEDRIAN light fixture line is the result of cooperation of Aquaform and a renowned Polish designer – Piotr Jagiełłowicz and one of the tycoons of technology – LG Chem company. The form of OLEDRIAN pendant and wall lamps is an interaction of the perpendicular and the transverse, planes and light; it refers to horizontal and vertical lines that are characteristic for art works of Piet Mondrian, one of the creators of neoplasticism. The sturdy, seemingly massive form of the lamp is balanced by the slimness (merely 6mm!) of the specially designed plates in which the OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) panels supplied by LG Chem are placed. Due to the unusually thin plates, the aluminium structure of the lamp gives the impression of visual lightness. The innovativeness of this product line results from the combination of the form with the OLED technology. This ensures ideal light dispersion, zero glare effect and very high colour rendering index (CRI>90). The even glowing area emits delicate, soft light, which will elegantly underline the character of residential interiors, in the role of both general and supplementary lighting. OLEDRIAN may also be used for decorative lighting in atmospheric interiors of modern cafés, galleries or restaurants. The unusual form of the lamp together with very low heat emission and low power consumption of OLED panels make up the lighting fixture of the 21st century – intriguing form combined with impressive, state-of-the-art technology.

The other line of Aquaform lamps using the OLED technology is called PURE surface. Small in size, these light fixtures emit light evenly, and as they do not produce a glare effect, they may be an interesting alternative to LED luminaries. More importantly, OLED fixtures are characterised by very low UV emissions – markedly lower than those found in the case of conventional technologies – and they produce human eye friendly light. Will OLED do what LED has done to traditional light bulbs? Time will show. Meanwhile, the OLEDRIAN pendant and wall lamps as well as PURE ceiling light fittings are able to introduce the technology of tomorrow to our interiors of today.

Our new catalogue was based on the idea of pure form – the Aquaform pure form of light, which is implemented in the continuously perfected fixtures (e.g. the popular 2000 P… spotlight series, also made in LED version, interesting formal and technical projects (including for example the recently presented THIN TUBE fixtures, which were created in cooperation with the Polish designer Piotr Jagiełłowicz); this idea is also reflected in the way the information on productsis presented. We do hope that thanks to the fusion of design and technology we observe in, inter alia, OLED technology-based fixtures, lighting design will advance one level up.
