Sustainability for us is not just a trendy term but a real strategy that underpins every stage of our operations – from production to the final product. The year 2024 marked another step in AQForm's journey toward achieving our ecological goals, with actions in this area continually evolving to address global challenges.
Sustainable Production and Renewable Energy
For years, we have prioritized local production, collaborating with regional suppliers to minimize our carbon footprint. Thanks to modern technologies, investments in innovative solutions, and the development of our own systems, our luminaires deliver highly efficient lighting while requiring fewer units to illuminate a space. This ensures energy efficiency and longevity like never before. We are also increasing our use of renewable energy sources. Our photovoltaic installation, with a capacity of 50 kWp, already covers more than half of the energy demand in one of our buildings. We aim to expand this capacity to 200 kWp in the near future.
Less waste, more efficiency
We strive for complete ecological neutrality in our packaging. We have introduced sustainable packaging for some of our luminaires, eliminating the need for adhesive tape and bubble wrap. Instead, we use tissue paper and cardboard inserts. The implementation of a closed-loop system allows for the reuse of the same packaging multiple times, significantly reducing our environmental impact. Minimizing paper usage in documentation, full waste segregation, and replacing outdated machinery with newer, more efficient models are just some of the steps we are taking toward more effective resource management.
Powder coating – a modern and eco-friendly alternative
We have reduced the negative impact on health and the environment by using powder coatings to paint our luminaires. Unlike traditional paints, powder solutions contain no toxic substances or solvents, and the painting process takes place in closed ventilation systems, preventing the release of harmful chemicals into the environment. Powder coatings are not only safe but also efficient – any residue can be reused multiple times, minimizing material waste.
Education and innovation for the future
In 2024, we introduced over 100 new products, many of which received prestigious awards such as the Red Dot and German Design Award. Our commitment to education goes beyond product innovation. We conducted a series of training sessions and webinars, enabling our partners, architects, and designers to deepen their understanding of sustainable lighting design.
