Packaging is an important part of the product. It protects goods during transport and allows for safe storage. An important aspect of packaging is its functionality, but also a reduced negative impact on the environment. Growing ecological awareness of consumers requires, that eco packaging is no longer just a trend, but becomes an informed choice of producers as well. This fact inspired us to act. At the end of 2019 we began to gradually implement further changes and introduce ecological solutions which allow us to eliminate traditional packaging by up to 50% by the end of 2020.

Eco-packaging adapted to our products

For the sake of the environment we started the process of implementing eco-friendly cardboard packaging with inserts dedicated to a specific luminaire. This allows to reduce the size of the package and replace the harmful bubble wrap with an environmentally-friendly biodegradable foil. In this way we provide already luminaires i.a. PET, QUPET, TUBA 111, TUBA 50, SQUARES 50, LED EYE and MAXI CUBE.

What does it mean?

In practice it means, that the biodegradable foil that we use is made of organic materials, which don't release any harmful substances during decomposition. The whole process takes only two years!

Up to 95% less packaging tape

We are proud of the fact that we also reduced the amount of packing tape which is used for new packaging up to 95%! This is a surprisingly good result, when considering the global problem of waste disposal, which often lands in seas or oceans. Let's imagine how substantial effect on a monthly-quarterly-yearly basis this small step will cause.

We meet strict EU standards

The corrugated cardboard that we use is made 100% from primary fibers and has been examined in an accredited testing laboratory. A positive result, supported by a certificate of conformity assessment, indicates that no harmful additives such as teflon, latex, silicone, formaldehyde, halides or sulfur compounds were used during production process. In addition, our cardboard meets the strict concentration standards for heavy metals like lead, cadmium, mercury and chromium and doesn't exceed 100ppm. Another point for the environment!

It should also be pointed out that in the production process of the cardboard that we use, no plant protection products, animal-derived materials or other illegal substances were used.

In harmony with nature

As a leading lighting manufacturer, we are extremely proud of the positive results of our research. Beginning the process of improving our packaging – among others, by using ecological biodegradable foil and almost completely excluding traditional packaging foil, as well as using cardboard that meets the strict EU requirements – is only a part of the environmental activities that we try to implement every day in our company. We know how important surrounding us nature is. That's why we keep it in mind in every area of our activities – including shipping products you have ordered.
